are you really looking?

In this work, the Tienqa pattern runs through the eye like veins, as if it is what nourishes vision itself. The question becomes whether people are truly looking, or if they merely see without awareness. The eye symbolizes both perception and blindness: it is open, yet it can still fail to recognize what is happening around it.

The piece challenges the viewer to reflect on how much of what we encounter we actually notice. Do we look with intention, or do we simply pass through life, our eyes open but our vision clouded?
