Sorry I’m Working is the answer usually given when someone cannot join, a phrase tied to offices and obligations. Here, it takes on a different weight. The work is not typing at a desk but painting shells, one by one, until a thousand are made.
The act may look unusual, yet it carries the same seriousness as any other labor. Hours turn into rhythm, and repetition becomes meaning. What seems small in the moment grows into something far larger than the task itself.
