The story of Tienqa
The underlying meaning of Tienqa is that everything is connected. Even in these new times in the modern age, it seems like everyone and everything is connected. Even though I think we live in a lonelier time than ever before, especially things like Instagram and Snapchat can ruin our mood in a second. But we also live in a time where our mood can get better if the social stuff online is getting better, like comments, likes, and views. Even though these things don’t necessarily mean that the people who see us online are really interested in us. Since we live in the online world, it feels like we have forgotten to look after each other in real life. I have a lot of friends that are lonely or feel lonely because it looks like there friends are having fun without them, I do have these feelings sometimes, even though I just turned eighteen years old. Tienqa’s pattern always looks connected but even some lines end at a point, some lines go through a lot of other lines, and some don’t, you can see this as a metaphor for your normal life from being born to making a lot of connections until your life ends.
Everything is connected
The pattern that I always make for Tienqa is special to me, I started doing it since I was 13 Years old, and I am still going. Sometimes I am curious if it was meant to be something or that it was just a random pattern that I created one day. Even if it was a random pattern, it gave me a lot of peace of mind. When I am creating it, I don't think of anything else, I don't even think about how the next line will be because it just happens. It’s like an invisible fluid coming straight out of my mind, because of that I am willing to believe it has a purpose. It is something special to me. Everything I see, I am curious about how my lines will look and which color to make them. You could say I am a bit obsessed, but in a good way. One other thing I like so much about it is that there are no rules about where it can be done and where not. I can put it on clothes, buildings, animations, canvases, furniture, and so on. Everything is connected, yet we still don’t know how everything in our body works, but we know that everything has its purpose. Those purposes combined make us the special beings we are today. Every human needs all their parts in their body to work together, otherwise, we would die. so, you could say everything in the body is connected. Our mind is another thing we still don’t know everything about. Our mind works the way it is because everything is connected and willing to work together.
Everything is connected
The Tienqa pattern is so recognizable that once you have seen it a handful of times, you would recognize it and link it to Tienqa. My vision for Tienqa also involves taking advantage of this recognition. The pattern will appear on all kinds of different items and in different forms. Think of graffiti, fine art, magazines, big billboards, clothes, shoes, and so on. Everything is connected. Because everything is connected, I will do my best to let everyone feel connected. I had a lonelier time myself when I was younger because I was really shy and an only child (not that it has to matter much, but for me, it did) and believe me, I had wished to be part of a special community. I will do my best to create a good community in real life and in the metaverse, where everyone can benefit from and feel at peace. I just want everyone to be connected in a good way. Maybe I will even start my own dating program within Tienqa, I'm just not sure yet. But I am sure I am getting everyone connected.
Everything is connected
All our phones are connected to each other, and our phones probably know more about us than our friends and loved ones. Nowadays we want to share everything with anyone, even if it means they could get sad, so why do we do it? It gives us a nice feeling to show how nice our lives are. People are even sharing their running lap, and then I'm like, who gives a fuck? We always say sharing is caring, but I believe online not sharing is caring. You can make someone's day a hundred times better by spending 10 minutes asking how their project is going and supporting them, rather than figuring out which clip of the party looks the most spectacular and sharing it on your story. But enough of that. Everything is connected, I am willing to believe everything has its purpose but that will make you feel out of control of your own life. The little choices that we make will really affect the world after all, like recycling our waste and taking the (electric)bike now and then instead of a car. All these little things matter because everything is connected.
Everything is connected
Imagine this: you’re meeting someone somewhere else in the world than your hometown and you both find out you have a mutual friend or live really close near each other, and you're like; how is this even possible? This happened to me several times and I am sure you have had the same experience. We really are more connected with each other than we can even comprehend.
Everything is connected
Here I have got another imagine thing for you; Imagine that everything that we know is just a small piece of the puzzle, and that everything is connected in ways we can't even imagine. That every action, every decision, every thought, and every feeling is connected to something else, and that everything is connected to everything. That's the beauty of it all, and that's the underlying meaning of Tienqa.
And remember:
Everything is connected.
disclaimer
I wrote this philosophy when I was 14, and since then, the text has remained unchanged. It represents the core of Tienqa’s thinking. While its structure, arguments, and reasoning may now seem outdated or naïve, its essence remains the same.
